Lady Blue beats Lander, blown out by Chiefs, Fillies

Jan 7, 2018 By Scott Akanewich, Sports Editor

Lady Blue entered the weekend at the Big Horn Shootout with a 4-2 record after the opening two weeks of the new season and added to that with a tournament-opening 45-38 victory against Class 3-A Lander on Friday.

However, from there it all went horribly wrong for head coach Max Mills' club in a pair of blowout losses.

In Friday's late game, Shoshoni was eviscerated by Wyoming Indian by a scoreline of 62-19, as the Lady Chiefs ran riot over the Lady Blue defense, as Alex Trosper led the line for head coach Aleta Moss' club, scoring a game-high 19 points.

Wyoming Indian led 15-2 after one quarter and 26-6 as the teams went to the halftime locker room, as Trosper already had 11 points at the break.

The dismantling continued throughout the second half, as Trosper and her teammates continued to put the hammer down.

Sandie Friday, Alsee Her Many Horses and Denaira Hiwalker all added eight points apiece for Wyoming Indian.

On Saturday, things got no better for Lady Blue in a 55-10 loss to Cody.

Shoshoni (5-4) will next host Wyoming Indian on Thursday.
