Lander man was stabbed multiple times at bonfire

A Lander man underwent surgery after being stabbed multiple times at a bonfire last weekend.

Lander police were dispatched at 12:24 a.m. April 15 to 860 Four Seasons Drive on a report of a suspect who "ran out the back with a knife in his hand."

According to Lander Police Department administrative assistant Duane Kaiser, Jordan Apadaca, 27, of Lander, was arrested for aggravated assault after stabbing a 27-year-old Lander man multiple times with a reported knife.

The two were at a bonfire and knew each other.

The victim was transported to the hospital for surgery. As of 5 p.m. Tuesday, the LPD did not know his condition.

With the investigation still open and ongoing, LPD would not release more information regarding the incident.
